It started with a visit to a local cafe in India. The food was brilliant, the owner was warm, and the regulars clearly loved the place. But on Google, it had a 3.8 rating — mostly because a handful of complaints about wait times had never been replied to, sitting there for months, pushing away new customers who didn't know any better.
We asked the owner why he hadn't replied. He shrugged: "Where do I find the energy to write replies after managing customers all day?" He wasn't wrong. He was running the cafe, managing staff, handling suppliers, and doing accounts at midnight. Replying to Google reviews was the last thing on his mind.
