NFC Review Card for Google Reviews: How Tap-to-Review Cards Work (2026)
An NFC review card is a small card for your counter. A customer taps their phone on it and lands on your review page, with no QR code to scan and no app to install. A Replykar NFC card is ₹700 with free delivery across India, and one card is included free with the Growth (₹1,499) and Business (₹2,999) plans.
Most customers who liked your place don't leave a Google review, and the reason is usually effort: they have to find your listing, scroll to the review button and work out what to write. Every step you remove helps. An NFC review card, sometimes called a tap-to-review card, removes most of them. This guide covers how it works, which phones it works on, how it compares with a QR code, and how to get one.
What Is an NFC Review Card?
NFC stands for near-field communication, the same short-range technology behind contactless payments. An NFC review card has a tiny chip inside. When a phone is held a few centimetres from the card, the phone reads the link stored on the chip and opens it. A passive NFC chip like this needs no battery and no charging.
On a review card, that link is your review page. The customer doesn't search for you or type anything: they tap, and the page opens.
How an NFC Google Review Card Works
- The customer taps their phone on the card at your counter, table or reception desk.
- Your review page opens. With Replykar, this is the same page your QR code opens: it shows your business name and a set of drafted reviews.
- They pick a drafted review in the tone they like, in Hinglish, English, Professional or Hindi, and can change the words.
- They post it on Google from their own account, so it's their review in their own voice.
Drafts only save customers the effort of finding the words. The customer decides what to post, which is what Google expects.
Which Phones Work With an NFC Review Card?
Recent iPhones can read NFC tags without an app: the iPhone XS and XR introduced background NFC tag reading, and newer models have it too. Older iPhones such as the iPhone 8 and iPhone X don't support it. Most Android phones with NFC can open a link from a tag too, though how they behave when the screen is off or locked varies by phone.
So an NFC card won't reach every customer, which is why it's best used together with a QR code.
NFC Card vs QR Code for Google Reviews
- Speed: a tap is quicker than opening the camera, pointing and waiting for the code to register.
- Reach: a QR code works on any phone with a camera, so it covers customers whose phones can't read NFC.
- Looks: a slim card at the counter is tidier than a printed poster.
- Cost: a QR code is free to print, while an NFC card is a physical product.
The simplest setup is both. Replykar gives you a print-ready QR poster for every location, so the NFC card sits at the counter for the quick tap and the QR poster covers everyone else.
Where to Put an NFC Review Card
Place it where customers already have a phone in their hand and a minute to spare: the billing counter, the reception desk, the table, the pickup point or the checkout. Add a short line next to it, such as "Tap your phone here to review us on Google", because many customers have never used an NFC tag.
Staff should invite every customer to use it, not just the ones who look pleased. Don't tap the card with one device again and again to post reviews yourself: Google's review policies prohibit fake engagement, and many reviews from one device are often removed.
Is an NFC Review Card Allowed by Google?
Yes. An NFC card is only another way to hand customers your review link, and Google encourages businesses to ask customers for reviews. The usual rules still apply: no rewards or discounts in return for a review, and no review gating, which means asking only the customers you expect to be happy. Our guide on getting more Google reviews without breaking Google's policy covers both.

FAQ
What is an NFC review card?
An NFC review card is a small card with an NFC chip inside. When a customer holds their phone near it, the phone opens your review page, so they can leave a Google review without scanning a QR code or searching for your business.
Does an NFC review card need an app?
No. Customers don't install anything. Recent iPhones (iPhone XS, XR and newer) and NFC-enabled Android phones can open a link from an NFC tag on their own. The card doesn't need a battery either.
Which phones work with an NFC review card?
iPhone XS, XR and newer iPhones read NFC tags without an app, and most NFC-enabled Android phones do too. Older iPhones such as the iPhone 8 and X can't, and some phones need the screen on or unlocked. Keep a QR code next to the card as a backup so no customer is left out.
Is an NFC card better than a QR code for Google reviews?
Neither is better on its own. The NFC card is quicker, because customers just tap their phone, and it looks tidy at a counter. A QR code works on every phone with a camera. Using both gives you the quickest route for most customers and a fallback for the rest.
How much does an NFC review card cost in India?
A Replykar NFC review card costs ₹700, with free delivery anywhere in India. Growth (₹1,499 a month) and Business (₹2,999 a month) each include one NFC card at no extra cost. On Starter (₹799 a month) you can order one for ₹700.
Can I get an NFC card for each of my locations?
Yes. Each card is programmed with the review link for one location, so every branch gets its own card. Order one card per location from the QR page of your dashboard; extra cards are ₹700 each.
Is it allowed to use an NFC card to ask for Google reviews?
Yes. An NFC card is just another way to hand customers your review link. Google's rules still apply: don't offer anything in return for a review, and ask every customer the same way instead of only the ones who seem happy.
Where should I place an NFC review card?
Put it where customers already have a phone in hand: the billing counter, the reception desk, the table, or the pickup point. A short line such as "Tap your phone here to review us on Google" helps customers understand what to do.
